Editorial Standards
How we report, source our work, use AI, handle advertising, and correct mistakes.

Our mission
TechPastWeek publishes a weekly digest and analysis of the technology news that matters — across AI, software, hardware, security, cloud, chips, climate tech, crypto, gaming, space and the startups building what's next. We aim to explain not just what happened, but why it matters.
Sourcing and accuracy
We build each story from primary sources wherever possible: company announcements and filings, official documentation, security advisories, peer-reviewed research, and direct statements. Where a story relies on reporting by others, we link to it. We prefer named, on-the-record sources, and we check numbers, dates and quotes against the source before publishing.
Use of AI
Our reporting is produced with the help of AI tools, which we use for research, drafting, translation and background. Every article is reviewed and edited by a human before publication, and the editorial team is responsible for its accuracy. Our German, Spanish and French editions are translated from the English original with AI assistance and reviewed before publication; a note at the foot of each translated article says so and links back to the English version.
Corrections
Being right matters more than being first. When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly: factual errors are corrected in place and the article notes the correction. If a correction materially changes a story, we say what changed. To report an error, use the contact page with the article URL and a description of the problem, and we aim to respond within two business days.
Independence and advertising
Editorial decisions are made independently of advertising and commercial relationships. Sponsored or paid content is clearly labelled as such, and we do not accept payment to influence coverage. Advertising enquiries go to our advertise page.
Authorship
Every article is published under the TPW Editorial byline. The editorial team stands behind everything we publish, and that is who to hold to account. If you have a question about a story, its sources or how it was made, contact us and we will answer it.
