Accessibility Statement
We're building toward WCAG 2.1 AA, and we're committed to fixing what we get wrong.
Last updated: September 2026
Our commitment
We want TechPastWeek to be usable by everyone, regardless of ability. We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and we design with accessibility as a requirement, not a feature.
What we do
- Keyboard navigation. The entire site is usable with a keyboard, with visible focus indicators throughout.
- Color contrast. Both color themes are checked against AA contrast targets for text.
- Reduced motion. We respect
prefers-reduced-motionand disable animations for people who ask for that. - Screen readers. We use semantic HTML, one heading level one per page, descriptive link text, and labeled form fields.
- Images. Every content image has meaningful alt text — it's enforced at build time.
- Text scaling. The layout works at 200% zoom and under large text settings.
Known limitations
We're a small team and some pages may still have gaps. Known areas we're improving: third-party embeds (which we don't control) and older syntax-highlighted code blocks.
Report an issue
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please tell us via the contact form, including the page URL and a description of the problem, and we'll work to fix it promptly.
