Cookie Policy
The short version: we don't use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies, so we don't show a consent banner. We do store a couple of strictly functional preferences, described below.

What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Cookies are typically used to remember login state, preferences, or to track you across sites for advertising.
Cookies we use
We use no tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. What we do store on your device is limited to the following:
- Strictly necessary / functional — our own:
tpw-locale, a first-party cookie that remembers which language edition you are reading (English, German, Spanish or French) so we can send you to the right one on your next visit. It contains only a language code — no identifier — is set by our own server, and expires after one year. - Strictly necessary — our security/CDN layer: Cloudflare, which fronts the site, may set short-lived security cookies such as
__cf_bmandcf_clearanceto tell humans and bots apart and to protect the site from abuse. These are not used to profile you or to serve advertising. - Preference (localStorage): we store your theme choice (light/dark) in your browser's localStorage so we can honor it on your next visit. localStorage is not a cookie and is never sent to our servers.
- Analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless, so nothing is stored on your device for analytics, and it does not identify you personally or track you across sites.
- Advertising: none. We don't run ad networks that profile you.
Third-party services
We don't embed third-party tracking, social or comments widgets. Our hosting/CDN layer (Cloudflare) and our email provider may place strictly operational cookies needed to keep their services working and secure. We don't control those cookies; see the respective provider's policy for details.
Do we need a consent banner?
Because we don't place tracking cookies — and the language and security cookies above are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for — the GDPR and ePrivacy rules do not require us to show a consent banner. If we ever add advertising or tracking cookies, we'll add a proper consent gate — with accept/reject options of equal prominence — before anything loads.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will continue to work normally.
